Thanksgiving: my hell week

Published 11/21/2013 by writingismysavinggrace

After surviving four years of college where the little three day week of Thanksgiving would be the week that professors tried and in some cases did kill us students. The profs would pile on the amount of work that was either due during those three days or due the next week since we apparently had so much “free time” during the holiday. The weekends usually turned out like this: family time, homework—- wait no—-sleep, family time, sleep, homework—-crap it’s due monday, return to campus— eat, homework, sleep, class.

How we survived those weeks I don’t know. Every year we planned and tried to be ahead of the schedule, some years it worked, some years it didn’t, but every year it was dreaded.

After college I didn’t think that I would think of Thanksgiving in this way, but this week I am working a total of 68 hours. It might just kill me.

So to those who know they aren’t going into a nice relaxing Thanksgiving: survive and once it is over treat your self to something special, whether it is a cup of coffee that you don’t usually buy, an evening off, it doesn’t matter, but find something to treat your self after being so stressed out.

Personally, I am not sure how I am going to treat myself. I will find something; I will share it with you all when I do.

So I will hopefully survive this week and you will too.
